Chrissaf
The Hornby T9 is a superb model and I remember seeing them in the early 60s down at Padstow at the end of the 'Withered Arm'. My T9 is fine on the flat (like any good greyhound) but has poor traction on a 1:50 gradient. How can I overcome this problem? Going Spare
Check that the loco's traction tyres are in good order, that the bogie is not giving too much downward pressure on the track that the front (tyred) driving wheels are being lifted upwards, and that all non-powered wheels in the train (loco, tender and rolling stock) are running freely. If all else fails, for a 1 in 50 gradient, as per the real railway use a pilot or banking loco, perhaps?
