Chrissaf
Use this CV29 calculator to find out the exact value to write instead of guessing what might be a good number to make it work.http://www.2mm.org.uk/articles/cv29%20calculator.htm

ColinB
I agree with jane2. If you do it that way you won't have the issue next time, if you decide to reset the decoder.
Chrissaf
Hi, I have a Class 43 HST that has decided to change direction, Controller says Forward and it travels in reverse, and in Reverse vice versa, It's fitted with a standard 4 function Hornby decoder which is hard wired into the unit, I have tried re writing the CV29 (it's usually 6) to a lower value and have tried every value between 0 and 9, nothing seems to work. As you can imagine when I use any odd No.it's in reverse full time.I am assuming I will have to reverse the polarity on the motor to get it to run in the correct direction, am right ? if so which wires have to be changed over, I'm not electrically minded, so I'm clueless. I've included a picture so everyone can see how it's currently wired in, the red wire is connected to the front bogey pickup/media/tinymce_upload/9f656a2258027e227b6c5effb2c43a06.jpg
