InterfaceWizardry
Hi Relatively new to DCC but in the process of converting my kids thomas range to DCC. I have found the instruction on the website to most of the range I have except for Duck & Bill & Ben. Anyone help? Thanks Nick
Fishmanoz
Hi IW, welcome to the forums. I'm not familiar with the Thomas range so don't have any specific help but the principle is the same for all DCC conversions - disconnect the red and black pickup wires from the motor and connect to the red and black decoder wires, then connect the orange and grey decoder wires to the motor (convention is red and orange go to right side, black and grey to the left - if you get it worng, all that happens is that the loco runs backwards and can be re-programmed to correct direction, or swap grey and orange). Some say it is also advisable to remove any interference suppression inductors and capacitors but it will work leaving them in place. Given the conversions you've done, applying the principles to other locos shouldn't be too difficult I'm thinking.
Pannier Tank
Hi Nick, They aren't to difficult. If you go to the Hornby DCC section of the web site you will find some decoder installs. Follow the Thomas one for Duck and the Generic 0-4-0 for Bill & Ben. Ive done most of them in the past. Good Luck PT
