ltfcdon
Has anyone had this problem , the ventilator sound comes on as soon as the loco moves off and stops on till you come to a stop.
Brightstar
I would have expected the ventilator fan to be working when the loco is travelling, after all the engine is working and needs to disapate the heat in the radiator, a bit like your car engine's radiator. When the loco is stationary the engine is not working as hard as when the loco is travelling and I would expect the fan to cycle on and off.. ltfcdon
The ventilator fan does not run all the time when the loco is under power it switches on and off on a thermostat as required as you mentioned in your reply , I have a south west digital sound chip fitted to another hornby class 31 and the ventilator does switch on and off as a random sound, there is a couple of posts on the RMWEB forum about the same problem , but thanks for the reply. Hornby Customer Care
To remove the ventilator/fan sound please change CVs 148 and 151 from the value of 20 down to value of 4. This should solve this issue.
