Jupiter 1707822591
The motor makes a connection onto the chassis. This connection must be isolated from the chassis and the grey wire connected, the orange goes where the red is.Then connect the Reds together, snip of the suppressor and connect the black onto the wire going to the chassis. Insulate the bare conductor.
Fishmanoz
Hi Bob, despite John’s try on the info you’ve given us, a lot more info would help. You could start with an R catalogue number please. Also, a photo of the chassis with the body off would eliminate any doubt. You say a later motor? Earlier Panniers had X03/X04 motors, later Type 7s according the Hornby Collector Club website. But then your description matches an X04.There’s a sticky thread at the top of this forum on correctly converting an X04 (FAQ 1 in the FAQ Index). Check that out and see if it’s yours. John might be describing an abbreviated method for this conversion, but then he may instead be describing a Ringfield, I can’t tell.

Jim-R855
Sounds like it may be the same chassis being discussed in the class 08 diesel thread?
