After looking on this Website & ringing customer services, it seems that Airfix do not stock the 1/24 Display stand or the Electric motor any more. Can some one please advise me as the best place to get hold of these. I am doing the Hawker Typhoon Mk1b again. the first is with engine and wings open and sat on it's under carriage, so I'm looking at doing this one in flight. Any and all help will be very appreciated.

You can only get the motors as new old stock. I got mine via ebay, they go for between £30-50.

Can’t believe they don’t do the stands anymore! Mad! The Hurricane and Spitfire kits I bought in Dec 2020 had them.

Tip: I fitted a battery box to the top surface of my Hurricane stand to save having to turn it upside down.

We can't exchange details on here but if you go over and join the Airfix Tribute Forum, I can give you a stand, foc, as long as you are in the UK. I don't post out of the UK.

I can't really help with the motor but you can buy generic small electric motors for as little as £1

Hi Frederick

As Hornby/Airfix are not doing the motors at the moment and ebay is a bit of a rip-off, can you recommend somewhere else I can track down simiar motors? Googling has not helped me much.

Thanks in advance.

If you are in the UK go into Poundland

In the beauty and health section there is a certain battery operated tool for about £1. With summer coming, in the hardware section you may find a battery operated personal cooling fan for about £1.

Buy one of these and pull it apart and you'll get a small electric motor which can run on 1.5v to about 12v. You'll also get a switch and battery contacts

Similar items can be found in Home Bargains and Poundstretcher, but at a slightly dearer price
