totontony
I am looking for advice on how to improve performance using a Hornby TTS sound decoder on a new Railroad class 66. I Have tested the loco using DC, it runs fine. I have tested the loco with a Rails 8 pin decoder, it runs fine. My DCC system is NCE Powercab using 128 steps for speed. When I fitted the TTS sound decoder It starts very slowly on 10 steps and speed does not increase much before step 60 and even then it virtually stops on curves, all my curves are greater than Hornby 2nd curve If I go to step 90 it will then keep a more constant speed but far too fast for most goods trains. When I need to stop and move right down to step 0 the loco keeps going for nearly a full circuit before stopping, I Have tried increasing CV 3 and 4 but it makes no difference. I sent the first TTS decoder back but the new one is just the same as the old one. Anyone got any idea how to improve the slower speed running please. Hipwell
Try changing cv 150 to the other motor algorithm. Worked a treat for my hst which is running a cd motor
Fishmanoz
That means set CV150 to 1, which is a very common fix for low speed jerky running. This forum has multiple threads covering this over years.
Jupiter 1707822591
Increasing the values of CV 3+4 will not improve it .increasing CV 4 will increase the slowing down .From what you have described and having checked with another decoder .my suggestion is the decoder is not up to it .or the mechanism is tight . ColinB
On all my class 66 TTS decoders (Bachmann and Hornby) I set CV 150 to 1. It definitely removes the jerky action.
totontony
Thanks to all who replied to change CV 150 from 0 to 1. It has certainly made my loco work properly.
