ColinB
Has anyone any idea what replacement wheels will fit my old Mainline Mk1 coaches? I have tried some Dapol wagon ones but they don't fit. With a Vernier they measure 14.1 diameter with two holes, axle length is about 25 mm. Rog RJ
Is the 14.1mm measurement over the wheel treads or the flanges. The correct measurement to use is over the tread.
ColinB
It is over the tread.

81F
Having re-wheeled several Mainline coaches I sometimes find that they do not all spin freely. Usually, it is about one in eight or ten. Oddly I cannot seem to find any reason but suspect the problem might lie with a bad combination of wheel and bogie so swapping sets around sometime fixes the problem. If you experience a similar problem, I would recommend getting a bearing reamer.I have found the same with all the Hornby variants of 14.1mm wheels (R8264, R8128, and R8234). However, The Bachmann 14.1mm and Bachmann are which is odd since Bachmann later made the Mainline Mk1s! so I tend to go for the Hornby ones these days. ColinB
Yes Going Spare R8264 fit really well, a pain to get them in the bogies but once in they are perfect.
