Admin,
there are quite a few comments piling up about bugs/enhancements to the forum.

my favourites are:-
1. ability to edit posts
2. emoticons
3. bullet/number lists
many others are listed in the dedicated thread.

is there
any info on when/if some further changes will implemented?

Hi Admin (is there anybody out there....)

Nothing heard on this post so I thought that I would try and run it up the flag pole one more time.

in addition to the points mentioned is the frustrating one that when you enter a thread you

are always taken to the start of the chain rather than the end. Clicking the link that says "one hour ago" might reasonably be thought to take you to that post. It actually takes you to the first one in the chain.

just nod if you can hear me....

appreciate

some feedback.

Thanks for the feedback. I had indeed missed your reply of 30th June.

it's actually pleasing looking at your post as at that stage the position to "last rather than most recent reply" was a "no plans at moment". good to hear it has been accepted

as a fault.

is there a time frame envisaged?

Greg

Agreed. I have said the same in the past. See my more recent reply in the "Navigating the forum" thread

That's fine but sometimes, such as when posting a link it would be useful to have the preview facility to make sure the link works. It could also reduce the number of empty replies, quotes with no additional text added and double postings.

That's disappointing, particularly since the previous incarnation of the forum had one. I think it is an essential feature of a contemporary web forum.

It is much

easier to proof-read a post before submitting it in 'preview' mode - particularly when edits to quoted replies are included.

Having said that ... it's your party.

well yes actually.

emails - at least for me - appear on the screen exactly as they appear when sent. bold, url.... are all visible.

still I would like the "go to the last reply" bug fixed first and probably then some of the others mentioned.

our

work forum provides full editing even after posting. this let's you fix embarrassing spelling mistakes that you somehow missed before posting.

My email is WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get). This post editor is not.

The font used for the edit

box is grey and in what appears to be a courier/typewriter font. The text contains tags for formatting (bold, underline, etc) and tags for any quoted text. When posted, the tags are processed and the font is different (it is a sans serif font, Helvetica perhaps?)

and it is much easier on the eyes to proof-read. Because the fonts are different, line wraps occur in different places.

A preview would be nice. It's certainly not life or death but we had one before the 'new and improved' website and is customary in

forum design where posts contain formatting tags.

I find it very good of the Admin to reply to these posts,I remember on the old websites they didn't always 'listen' to cries of forum members :)
I'm not fussed about a edit facility, just make sure it makes sense before posting!
And I'm sure emotions

are not necessary :)
