That is incredibly cheap for a Princess Coronation even adding on the £30 Hornby Club fee.

I thought they would have gone all bells and whistles with smoke, etc seeing as it was that special. This looks like a repaint of the old one I have but with a 21-pin socket.

Well I don't think it'll be that every Coronation release from now will be at £149 !!

Interesting option, and had I the resources, I would have taken a punt - not this time and doubtless they'll appear on Ebay for £200+ fairly soon.

I have to agree. Another repainted loco, hardly worth a big announcement. I was expecting, hoping for something new.

I can't see the release of a loco as an 'experience' and wonder whether the Hobby Rewards scheme should have been the major Warley announcement but as the scheme title appeared briefly on the website some days ago, that announcement (more of an 'experience') was brought forward. This, though, then left something to be revealed at Warley. This close to the turn of the year, promotional material for what would otherwise have been a Club 2023 model was undoubtedly well advanced so announcing the Duchess was also brought forward to become the Warley 'reveal' to go some way towards filling what would otherwise have been a somewhat embarrassing void.

I reckon it's either an older tooling, or they just mistyped it, and Hornby are Hornby so they failed to check.
