Hi everyone,
I have recently recived the Hornby R3070 Special Edition Tornado and I noticed that it came with two metal Tornado Nameplates to place over the sticker ones but it does not tell you how to attatch it.
Does anyone know?

Please

Hi Vespa and Jacob,

When you received your locos, where were the nameplates, I have physically taken the loco and tender out of the box and nothing there. The brake rods and lights were in a small bag underneath the foam packing, and they didn't

appear to be in DCC sleeve packet. I'm not to concerned, but just asked in case they were hidden away somewhere.

Hi Everyone,
Sorry for bringing back a lon gone thread but I thought I'd do an Update on Tornado. I managed to finaly get some Pritt Stick glue today and stick the nameplates on Tornado.
They were playing Hide and seek again though! I opended the

Box to get them out but they were not their, so I went looking for them. When I came back I still had not found them but it turned out that they had fallen out of the box and onto the floor and my Dog was gurding them!
At least he did not eat them!

The idea of providing DIY etched nameplates is odd, nice, but odd. Years ago Hornby offered extra stick on or transfer name and numbers for certain models and I wonder if they might not consider re-visiting this idea. It might encourage people to buy more

than one model in a given catalogue period, without the expense of turning out three or four differently named locomotives in the same period. I have one of the older Winston Churchill Battle of Britain locomotives replated 21C155 Fighter Pilot, and another

re-named 21C170 Manston using these. They look fine. The numbers are printed on a panel of body colour so you do not need to remove the original number (a trick also used by Modelmaster in their Gold packs) OK the purist collector who dare not even open the

box for fear of taking pounds off the value of the model would not like it, but those of us who like to play with their toy trains could increase their stock without fear of duplication.

Yes, I remember them. Had some that came with a B17 I think. They were about 4' scale inches thick and not quite the same colour as the loco. If you want to change numbers they do say you can remove the old ones with a glass fibre pencil and replace them

with proprietary decals.
