geochoice
Hi. Can anyone direct me to the wiring for a DCC chip onto the Riviera please, got it apart and there seem to be 3 red and 3 black wires to capacitor. Which do I use please? Thanks, as always. Fishmanoz
Geochoice, focus on the connections to the motor, which I assume are the reds to one side and blacks to the other? Remove all wires from one motor connection and solder them to decoder red and then remove the wires from the other connection and solder to decoder black. You can also safely remove all capacitors from the motor connections although this is not essential (Hornby doesn't recommend this). Make sure the left hand motor connector is isolated from chassis and wheels (not sure if Riviera is older Ringfield model where this is an issue but see other posts on Ringfield conversion if it is). Now connect decoder grey to one motor connector and decoder orange to the other. The loco should now be ready to run DCC.
