rman
So the Princess Classes now have a Spring 2024 release. So they originally planned for this year with the other steam locomotives but they were delayed and pushed for a later release of late 2024 / early 2025 release date. So they are having an earlier release date so why?
taunmarc88
They did just finish the computer design of it so perhaps it’s moving forward to the next stage of production. It’s still a year away but hopefully this date is accurate.
D9020 Nimbus
It would be more appropriate to refer to the Princess Coronation or "Duchess" class to avoid confusion with the earlier LMS Pacifics.
rman
I see that they have added DCC fitted versions to the website.
taunmarc88
Thanks for the heads up, just preordered two and cancelled the original DC one. My era spectrum at the moment is rather large so I’ve just gone for Era 3 and 5 and I’ll see how I’m feeling nearer the time … I was supposed to be going Era 5 but then I’ve already got Era 3 LNER…
Moccasin
Interestingly, they're about £11 cheaper than other locomotives, at £190 vs £201. Given that the factory fitting of the decoder otherwise seems to be a consistent £55 premium, that suggests that the analogue locomotives might be re-priced.Am unsure whether to buy one at the moment. taunmarc88
It did seem odd that pre price did not match, I doubt they would reduce the cost of the analogue version - it seems relatively reasonable as it is. It doesn’t say ‘sound fitted’ like the others but it does say it includes the TXS sound decoder. I assume then it will be the same as a sound fitted A1/3/4 ? I don’t want to find out later they aren’t doing a sound file for it!
Moccasin
There's an 00 Princess Coronation sound file already available, so that can presumably be used with auto calibration if no TT profile emerges. The descriptions of the TXS functionality seem to vary for each locomotive, maybe based on who writes the entry when it is uploaded! As others have said, the website really needs a good tidying up as there are an increasing number of discrepancies.
