mr2002 Posted May 18, 2023 Share Posted May 18, 2023 I have followed the advice given in this video to build my own track cleaning wagons in N gauge, and will be doing the same in TT. Very simple, very effective. Just a case of sourcing the wagon. I may try the 21-ton coal wagon when it comes out. Think you need a longer wheelbase than the 12-ton van. ntpntpntp Posted May 18, 2023 Share Posted May 18, 2023 to be honest I've never found any track cleaning wagon in small scales to be effective at all, and I've had several over the decades in N including expensive DCC fitted powered wagons. That build in the video is all very well but there's no weight on the cleaning pad.There is no substitute for going round your track with a track rubber (or cloth and potion if you prefer). This also encourages you to check for bad rail joints, bad power feeds, clear loose debris, maybe find that buffer that fell off a while ago :)If you want to make a link active, drag it in from a separate browser window.
