Dave the Busker
I've just had two sets of track pack 1 delivered, and in both of them the moving rail on the points was very slightly out of alignment so that when a locomotive was passing onto the curved points, the gap between rails is very slightly too narrow and it either stalled and started wheel spinning or jumped out of the rails. Has anyone else had this problem, and can the points be fixed? I've phoned Hornby, they said to email them the box batch number and they'll send replacements. Glad they're doing that, but a frustrating day and a long wait until I can get the track in place.
ntpntpntp
Post a close-up photo of the problem? Is it simply that the blades won't fully close? Could it be jamming on the contact underneath if that's bent out of shape?

Dave the Busker
I've posted photos for mod approval. It's on the moving rail, but at the other end where the rail is anchored. It looks like it's been made with the rail to one side so there's not quite enough space for the wheels to pass through.
RB51
Looks like a manufacturing fault, perhaps for the whole batch. Doesn’t look fixable to me. R-
Dave the Busker
Thanks Roger. Hopefully Hornby get back to me with replacements soon, and hope it's not a huge batch that's affected.
RB51
Please come back and let us know the outcome. If it is a batch error there are likely to be others with the same problem. I’ve never seen the box they come in, having The Scotsman only, is it obvious which number identifies the batch? R-
Dave the Busker
That's the batch number, I've emailed that info to Hornby.
Moccasin
Batch numbers are printed on a small white sticker on the rear. I have two of these Track Packs (both points seem correct) and the codes on both are:VIN01-P10011915TT8030-48-
ntpntpntp
Ah yes, assembled badly at the pivot, looks like either the locating hole is misaligned or the tabs on the underside of the blade aren't bent over equally? Can you post a photo of the underside of the pivots? If they don't want the dud ones back you may be able to do something with the tabs to reposition the blade in line with the closure rail. Might be quite a simple fix.
RB51
That's the batch number, I've emailed that info to Hornby. Thanks Dave. R-
Dave the Busker
Just got an email from Hornby, they're going to send out replacement points. No mention of wanting the dud ones back, so I might experiment on them. If I can sort them, then great. If not, I'll just cut the rails out for some trackside debris. Rallymatt
I have some failed Peco ones that I am planning to try and incorporate as something redundant, it’s a nice feature. It’s amazing how people ask about the ‘old tunnel’ and the part lifted and overgrown track. Another idea is to make them into ‘slip’ points
Dave the Busker
Replacements points just arrived and they seem to be much better.
