Production is mainly in India. Do they ship it half way around the world again? From what I remember, the injection moulding process doesn't work with 100% re-granulated styrene, so how much could be used. Of course, anything can be done, but at what cost? The green thing to do, is to use the wastage to make other Products (this scheme is not designed for the sprues to be used for making into models), instead of just sending the stuff to rot in the ground, where it is getting into our groundwater, and probably into our food and bodies just like the other plastics which have already been detected within spring water, as well as within people’s bloodstream and muscles!!! Therefore any scheme that is going to help stop this, has to be well worth taking part in, doesn’t it???
Ratch
That is a different argument Jon. The original idea was for Airfix to re-use the waste plastic that we throw away.
modeling maniac
Mabey that they have a collection box or even a sort of post box at somewhere like the post office ( if everyone has one ) or even the tip (but don't get your hopes up because the council will probably say its 'uneconomical' ) even that would make a difference.
