Era 7 Class 43 Digital Train Pack Expected Date Moved

Recommended Posts

All the Class 43/Intercity 125 sets have moved back to next year - even the analogue ones. Hard to know what to believe really as the TT Club magazine indicated the power cars and coaches are still due summer/autumn, as are the Duchesses. Website is probably up to date if it's changed, but we will see!

The GWR sets are showing as Summer 24.

Tuesday seems to be the day for changes I've noticed, though it might just be coincidence.

With items’ etas moving in to next year and beyond it may be prudent to selectively order your desired products before the club discount disappears. If the launch has exceeded expectations I’m sure we won’t get the same deal when it comes to membership renewal. Mine expires Jan 24.

I cancelled my pre-orders but may try again, although presumably the current offer will remain (20% rewards vs 10% rewards + 15% discount), which means only losing 5%. Just need to be careful though as there’s a danger of bankruptcy in spring 2024 if the current release dates remain accurate!

Does make you wonder what’s changed since the TT magazine was edited a month or so back.

Unless I’m mistaken, according to the website, the only new locomotives due between now and winter are Trigo, the remaining 08s and the sound fitted A1/A3/A4s.

The magazine also mentioned that a Trigo bundle had been announced. Where?!

It’s definitely a hard choice between preorder at discount or just wait for release… at the moment I have no preorders. I would rather know when money is leaving my account so I’ve accepted I will just be trying to buy upon release (like the 08).

If they announced a limited run or TT club exclusive then I would preorder as I would for any other product of that nature.

I have put my TT layout on hold for now so I’m just collecting bits at the moment. Got Mallard and an 08 plus Blink Bonny seems to be on its way back to me from Hornby. I really want Trigo so that’s next!

Yes all very frustrating…

Also something I can’t quite get my head around is the fact the era 8 Class 43 HST intercity 125 seems to have an earlier release date from the rest the 43’s of winter ‘23 along with intercity liveried Mk2f coaches?

pretty sure this combo wasn’t standard.

The varied release dates for varying liveries of the same product may well be down to Hornby expressing a desire to the website Company to ‘keep the clients informed’ and this is their interpretation of that wish. I’ve not seen an ETA feature for unavailable or out of stock on other TT manufacturers’ sites.

Given that there are still 08s in stock after the first wave of pre orders suggests stock management is about right and bodes well for ordering on spec items we’ve not pre ordered. A little more notice that one’s bank account is about to take a hit would be an improvement though as the email notification and funds removal is virtually simultaneous.

I do agree that it’s very commendable to keep customers informed and, with this launch, pretty much obligatory to show expected launch dates.

Any delays are first world problems, but it’s disappointing that the Class 43 HSTs have seemingly fallen back by 9-12 months only a short while after the TT club magazine was published with an article showing off the samples and highlighting that they were fairly imminent. The stark difference in dates without any explanation is a little odd, although the power cars were a little useless if the Mk3 coaches aren’t to be released until summer 24.

There’s now little new due in TT120 until the end of the year, which won’t help Hornby’s inventory and cash flow.

Just a thought, has anyone actually asked the TT:120 Brand Manager what the expected dates for stock are. It seems the dates on the website are unreliable. It might help calm people’s anxieties… and I am not making fun, the hobby is often a source of relaxation and mindfulness for many, me included and some stresses can have quite big effects.

The MGR hoppers are now scheduled for Summer 2024. Pretty sure they were showing for this year until recently. I think that means that there’s no more modern image stock showing as expected this year - maybe the tank wagons if we’re lucky. The 66s are now showing as Summer 2024.

I had a reply from Sarah at Hornby which didn’t tell me very much except to confirm that the rest of the buildings aren’t due until next year.
