A byte too deep

With the introduction of Blu-tooth connectivity to the digital control set-up, meaning any device with this can control digital controlled items, it is only half a step onward from controlling your layout, to programming it.

I'm thinking a parallel operating version of LOGO might be a prime candidate language for that.

It would mean, for those who desire it, to program-up their layout operate the start and sit back and watch it go!

Others may view this as taking things a bit (or byte) too far

Railmaster already does that by timed sequences of events in programs, macros in actual fact. The method is flawed as events creep over time and get out of kilter, requiring periodic resets.

TGG operates auto- running by way of program scripted events controlled by track sensors. Many scripts can be run in concert as a schedule of such events. Time creep errors are eliminated by sensor triggered events.

Many other train control apps have auto-running, using a variety of loco detection methods, which are prime to effective auto-running control.

You may be re-inventing the wheel.
