Daniel-358007
I am trying to replace the rubber tyres on the center axle. How do I remove the connecting rods as there are no screws attached to the wheel? Thank you.
atom3624
Do the pins rotate in holes in the coupling rods?Others will confirm, I'm just surmising, perhaps the pins are 'friction fit' - push in, pull out?Al.
Going Spare
As Al says, the rods are pinned to the wheels and the pins can usually be gently levered or pulled out quite easily.
ntpntpntp
Unless the coupling rod pins are obviously threaded (in which case they'll have a screw slot or a hex head) I use a craft knife behind the rod and pin to gently ease the pin from the wheel. Do this within a large clear plastic bag to catch the pin if/when it pings off!
Daniel-358007
Dear All. Thank you for your helpful replies. You are all correct. The pins can be eased out easily and pressed fit back. I have learnt something new today. Thank you again.
