Allan-358421
I wonder if anyone can help me ? I have three 1960s Austin Healey cars -2 green and 1 red. Both green ones are stamped as "Made in England" under the front axle, the red one has no country of origin stamped on it. All three have similar looking motors but the red one also has a black line on one of the three segments of the motor. I am confident that both green ones are correctly catalogued as C74. Is it possible that the red one could be a C93?I also have a Mercedes 190 SL that has a similar motor to the above and has the black mark on one of the segments but also each segment appears to have a divisor between the winding wires. The car is stamped as C/75 but came in a C94 "race tuned" box. I understand that it was not unusual in those days to use the same mould for a later model without changing the Cat No. on it.I am very confused, Allan
Andy P.
Adrian Norman has written several definitive books on Scalextric .I seem to recall him mentioning these "race ready" cars....The older versions should be easy to get at this point.I get a chance (which is unlikely) I will pull out my version and see if I can see anything...
