What About The Bee
Hi JJI took your Hornby number R1283M and searched for what it contained. It said the rolling stock it contained is:BR (exLMS) Composite CoachBR (exLMS) Brake 3rd CoachI then looked up images of these two types of carriages. The image you show is an excellent match for Brake 3rd Coach.Check Hornby R4801 to see if you agree!Bee
JJ73
Thank you Bee π Guess what - I couldn't find 'R4801' on the Hornby Web Site - but I did find this :- R40022 BR, Mk1 Brake Composite Corridor, E 21106 - Era 4 (hornby.com)Which is nearly the same - slightly different thou...May be I'll just call it a BR (exLMS) Composite Brake 3rd Carriage!!! - But what does 'Composite' mean thou??? π€π
What About The Bee
Hi JJHere R4801 is on Hattonshttps://www.hattons.co.uk/250893/hornby_r4801_ex_lms_57_suburban_non_corridor_brake_third_m20736m_in_br_crimson/stockdetailIf not mistaken "composite" means two different classes of service in one rail car.Bee
JJ73
Yep I did see that Hattons 1 but it was a different colour & the windows were thinner!!! π
Going Spare
Search for R4232 - that will show you the Stanier mainline corridor brake 3rd coach in LMS crimson lake livery (without the Royal Scot roofboard). R4801 is the ex-LMS suburban non-corridor equivalent in BR crimson.
Fazy
That is the Hornby standard 57β BTK (break 3rd Corridor) it is a Stanier diagram 1905. Built in the 1930βs. The same diagram is also used in the Coronation. if you are correct about the windows being different on the model you looked at it might be a different diagram someone has made using a Hornby model as a starting point. But Hornby as only made the 1905 in the higher detail range. the gray bits on the Guard end are chalk boards. For distension to be written on of certain goods being carried inside the coach. Fazy
Other BTK and BCK are available in kit form, and I think the old Airfix/Mainline did a different diagram but itβs been a long time since Iβve seen one in the flesh.
