Simeon-360036
Hi all,I am having real trouble sourceing a new set of drive wheels for my Eurostar power car OO guage. X6029. Everywhere is out if stock and ebay only has HO guage. The gears are worn and need replacing. Any suggestions on locating a set or alternatives.ThanksSimeon
Going Spare
The only new alternative appears to be to buy the complete motor bogie X3437DC but at £25+ that seems an expensive way of replacing the gears (however, as spares are in short supply, it would also give you a replacement motor as your train has probably had a fair amount of running for the gears to be worn).Or contact Customer Services, explain the non-availability situation and ask whether they might be prepared to strip the motor bogie wheelsets from an otherwise faulty unit or, failing that, if they can suggest any other wheelsets that could be substituted. Rana Temporia
There is a complete motor bogie with a non working motor on eBay for around £15 buy it now. There is a good picture of the wheels and axles, it might be worth a look.
ntpntpntp
I'd probably look at 3rd party gear makers if you cannot get hold of genuine spare wheelsets. For my N gauge locos needing replacement split gears which are unavailable I usually have them made in brass (which I prefer to plastic gears) by a firm in Poland. Not cheap but I know they will last :) kkpmo - KK Produkcja Mikroantriebe Producer of small pinion, spur gears, gearboxes, car system parts and other
