Derek-368732
Have purchased hm7000 Dcc 8 pin decoder to fit in my hst125 railroad version model train and found the decoder plugs pins seem to be too thin thus a loose fit to the models on board socket.Wondering if anybody else have had this problem. ColinB
I am not surprised, I have seen it before on other decoders.
Equaliser
Yes, I had the same issue. I resolved it by very slightly bending each of the pins in different directions. You don't need much of bend or the plug won't go into the socket. This gave just enough friction to hold the plug in place.

RDS
@DerekI have used exactly that method previously but you need to be EXTREMELY careful when bending a Decoder Pin. In fact you may only need to bend 1 pin slightly to ensure that the whole 8 pin plug stays in the socket.
96RAF
I squeeze each bank of 4 pins just a little bit by pressing on the bench or with pliers. You may also get away with tinning each plug pin with solder to thicken it up.
