ABC braking and lighted Pullman coaches

I have setup ABC braking, works great when only the locomotive is drawing power. With the lighted coaches, the train slows down but does not always stop.

looks like the issue is the coach is electrically connecting to the previous section of track.

The obvious solution is to have the first coach only draw power from one side, not both.

Suggestions for ways to try this out that would be reversible? Not cutting wires.

I need to try something like that. Thinking of putting the brake one first. Using the closed space for extra capacitors, if needed. I cannot see an easy way of doing this.

The other thought I had is when the ABC stop section is occupied, connect the section before the stop section to the ABC section. The two combined would be longer than the trains I am planning on running. Need to figure out the best way to go. That will work with future purchases. Coaches of different lengths with lights.

Without checking, could you remove one wheel set from each bogie and turn it around?
Would that not stop the lights from working?

The more I think about it, switching the connection to the previous section, would give the most robust solution. Even with only one side connected, could stop over the join.

That's an interesting point about long trains with lighting pickups tending to bridge across into the ABC section. ABC's not something I've played with, and anyway I'm not a fan of lights in coaches, but I have seen similar issues with multiple units where the set is wired through. I have some Hobbytrain N gauge units which have switches factory-fitted to disable the pickups on the rear unit.
