Jumping to last post

Is there a way to "force" a viewed thread to start off at the first post instead of jumping to the last.

It's not the end of the world, I just scroll up but it does drive me a bit bonkers having to do it every time.

In this forum in its current form, it is designed that way by the developers, there is no adjustment you can make.

Think of it from the other persons point of view.

If it was a multi-page thread and it always opened on page 1, then many would be moaning that they had to manually navigate to the last page to see the latest reply of threads they were following.

Any alternative argument (others, not yours) that you don't know what the original page 1 question is doesn't stack up, as that is repeated at the top of each new page.

Your issue IMO only becomes an issue if your visits to the forum are sparodic in nature. If you visited very regularly, then you would be up to date with any threads you are following on a daily or even hourly basis and would only be interested in the latest reply.

A very fair answer, I must admit I didn't look at it from that point of view and must also admit that I'd probably be one of the ones going bonkers trawling through reams of answers. :-)
