TT:120 a little perspective

12 months ago a few lucky people were getting their hands on the first issue of the Scotsman sets… a year on what a choice we have, seriously it’s enough to make an amazing layout.

Im going to share a story, as a railway mad 12 year old I had a holiday in Bulgaria (1978) there was a department store in Sofia (capital) that sold model railways. A visit to said store resulted in the purchase of a Piko BR118 in HO, a beast of a loco. It cost equivalent of £4, it drew a huge crowd as the loco was tested. I was asked if I wanted another loco, I was embarrassed because it was all too easy for me, even then £4 was not much. Put in perspective, we are incredibly fortunate (I’m not just talking about model railways)

Nice words and thoughts.

I was one of the first to have The Easterner set and buildings etc. I sent it all back on feelings that I had made a huge mistake (loco was not running in reverse, etc).

However with more information, content makers (Peachy et al) and HM7000 I returned and so glad I did.

Looking forward to improving skill and gaining experience and what is ahead on the tracks.
