KPJunk
Hi everyone, I hope someone can answer the following as I am having problems getting the eurostar loco running under dcc. The eurostar works as DCC Ready Analogue using 0 as the address on the elite. After fitting the Hornby Decoder , it will not work Unfortunately, I cannot remember which loco number I set it up on . The questions are : If a decoder is faulty , will it still be possible to register via the elite without any indication of errors? Can I check which loco number I have allocated and if I have set it up correctly? Can a decoder be reverted back to factory settings (eg Loco number 3 on the hornby elite )? Any help would be greatly appreciated Regards Keith
Rog RJ
You can give the decoder a new address even if you don't know it's previous address number. Just follow the normal addressing process for "Basic Locomotive Address Programming" on page 15 of the latest Elite manual. It is also possible to read back the existing address by following the "Basic Locomotive Address Programming" instructions except when you get to step 6, rotate the control to "Read" and press the control. The decoder will then be interrogated and the address should be revealed. The Hornby decoders can be reset by writing 8 to CV8.
