problem with a bachmann class 150

Hi I have two class 150's, both are central trains livery my older one runs fast, not sure what chip is fitted to it. I purchased another one, I first fitted a Bachmann 36-0557 chip in it, but it run slow so I contacted the shop i bought from and they

 

took it back, I then replaced it with a Hornby r8245. and it still runs slower than the other one, I have the Hornby elite, thing I can't understand when I put it in dcc & dc mode and connect a normal dc controller on it runs about the speed as the other one.

only difference I can see is the older one has no working lights were the new one has working lights
