MartinZee
I have a DCC Duchess when I turn power on everything looks fine in the control panel you can activate the whistle along with all the other function keys but the engine won't move. if you turn the power up to full then down to stop you get all the sounds coming through as if it is running. I have cleaned the wheels on both the engine and tender but it still won't work. Before it stopped all together when it ran it ran in a jerky stop/start way, then when I pulled into the station on my layout and stopped the engine it now won't start again. Has anyone any suggestions what I can do to remedy it?
MartinZee
Will try that, just a bit scared of opening it all up as it is fragile being plastic and not used to where to and how open stuff like this up. Thanks again...Martin
2e0dtoeric
How old is the loco? If it is fairly new, send it back to Hornby, or your model shop, if you don't trust your ability to sort it yourself. It might be a wheel has lost 'quartering' and jammed the mechanism, or one of the chip to motor wires could have broken, or a brush has worn out, or.....
