Scania143
Hi I am thinking of getting railmaster for controlling our layout, but wondering I have seen quite a few videos of it in action and you always only seem to be able to see a small part of the layout at any time, or is it possible to display the whole layout always or do you have to scroll around to each part. Thanks
LMSTim
It depends on the size of your layout. RailMaster can deal with a layout roughly 50' x 50' although of course you would be able to see the whole layout on-screen at the same time whilst also being able to control points and signals, so the thing to do is to zoom in a bit and scroll around the layout. If you don't want to scroll there are "quick buttons" that, at a single press, will go directly to a part of your layout. so for example, if the layout is long but narrow you could have it in two sections. There are lots of different ways of presenting it. The key, though, is that it has been made easy to get around.
Scania143
Thanks for the reply LMSTim, sounds perfect for me this software also does the layout have to be built with hornby track or can you still use peco code 100 and have cobalt point motors
Pete172
Hi Scania143. Peco code 100 or any other 2 rail track should be fine. Think you will need to go into the Hornby accessory decoder settings to change them from pulse (the default setting), to something that suits the Cobalt motors (think this info is in the decoder instructions). Fishmanoz
RM doesn't care what sort of track you have and the layout you design in it are a schematic and not detailed with particular point types. It can also handle a very wide range of point motors and decoder types which are all included in the program, not just Hornby ones. This is true for different types of both loco and accessory decoders.
