58001 Posted September 1, 2013 Share Posted September 1, 2013 There is a clip at the rear of the locomotive which is visible from the outside just above the buffer beam. Gently ease the rear of the locomotive away from the chassis by pushing in the clip or levering the back of the body. The brakes are moulded parts of the chassis so should not touch the wheels. If they are then the wheels are not properly located. This is a common problem with 0-6-0 locos where all six must be aligned otherwise the coupling rods will pull them off axis. 58001 Posted September 1, 2013 Share Posted September 1, 2013 While it is always worth checking the back to back, I was trying to refer to the coupling rods being misaligned. If just one wheel is slightly advanced with respect to the others on the same side this can lead to at least a waddle or at worst a seizing of the axles.
