ChristchurchLinda
Hi guys, i was running my train and watched it come to a stop, reverse about 6 inches then go foward again. i'm stumped. it does a few loops, no hassel, then at the same point, does the reverse thing again. i'm finding that the train can be at a stop, (anywhere on the track) then when you turn up the accelerator it does nothing for quite some time. if i give it a push it starts running again, all be it at slow speed when the controller says it should be at least half speed. sometimes the train just stops anywhere after cruising along nicely, so i just give it another push. is the track dirty?? there's 23 metres of track, how often should i be cleaning it? there's only one train on it at present and honestly doesn't get used much. any advice would be appreciated. thanks, linda
Rog RJ
It certainly could be dirty track and/or dirty wheels. I suggest cleaning both with a solvent such as isopropyl alcohol ( AKA IPA - not the beer! ) or methylated spirits. IPA is best because it's pure but costs more than meths and not so easy to find, Maplins sell it and it is easy to find on the online auction sites. The frequency of cleaning depends on many factors including how often you run trains, environment (dust, humidity, damp etc) and climate.
