Into_TheCatalyst
Hello, I am looking into upgrading my layout to DCC and I have a Hornsby turntable but want to use ez-command control, science the DCC wiring goes straight from the decoder to the track instead of going through the controller like the analouge way, I was wondering if the ez-command would just pick it up like a normail loco. idlemarvel
If you want to drive the Hornby turntable from a DCC controller then you have to fit a standard loco decoder as per these instructions: https://www.hornby.com/hornby-dcc/decoder-installation-guides/turntable-conversion/ Then you control the turntable just like a normal loco. Fishmanoz
Ez command is just the blue box company's DCC controller and said to be NMRA compatible like most other DCC gear, all of which allow connections of loco and accessory decoders directly to track, which is of course the same as connecting to the controllers track output anyway. So, as idle marvel says above, the Hornby TT will work this way. However please note a number of older threads in here by searching TT or turntable which give alternative methods of DCC conversion of the DCC track without using the inferior method suggested by Hornby of removing the clips on the bridge rails. It is far better to have isolated track outputs only where needed rather than doing this. Then it would be better still to have a TT designed for DCC running in the first place, like some other brands.
