R8249 reversed polarity

I have a bit of an odd issue. I fitted a R8249 to R3109 and ran it in fine for 30mins each direction.

 

However, today when I wanted to run it for my son, it did the opposite to what I wanted. I set it to go forwards with RailMaster and instead it

 

went backwards.

 

I have checked that pin one (orange) is in pin one because I did this when I had to fiddle with reseating the cylinders.

 

The only CV I have changed is the address.

 

I have checked to make sure I have the track all wired

 

up correctly, which makes no difference.

 

I am perplexed?

Did you test it with Select or Elite first, then use RailMaster? There is a setting in Railmaster to reverse the direction of all trains, so that may be it. Or, when you set the address, did you re-initialise the decoder (e.g. by setting CV8 to 8)? That

 

may have reset the direction bit in CV29. That's all I can think of.

Sorry, I only have an eLink. Unless I did an errant key stroke, the only change should have been to the DCCID.

Just change the default direction by writing to CV29 as per the instructions in the manual.

This is weird, I replied stating that I had change the default from 6 (110) to 7 (111) and the message was never posted.

I take it you are telling us you have reversed the direction of travel by changing bit 0 of CV29 from 0 to 1 and your problem is now solved?
