E-Link short circuit

Hi all, this may have already been discussed, but here goes.

I have recently got back into model railways after many years away from the hobby. DCC appealed to me instantly especially E-Link and Railmaster. I have purchased a set and additional

track and rolling stock, locos etc. I have successfully converted 2 of my non DCC locos successfully.

My question is that even though I haven't got the layout pinned down yet, when I run 2 or 3 locos around my layout, as soon as the locos reach an area

of track where they are relatively close they stop and a short circuit error message appears on my pc screen.

I have DCC clips in all points. I'm just wondering what it is that is causing it?

Any help will be gratefully received.

A liitle more info would probably help here... how many circuits of track are you using, are the locos traversing points or crossovers when the short happens, is one of the engines near the power clip to the track thus loosening the wires. Is it one of

the older locos causing the issud and it still has the capacitor inside?

Loads of things could be causing this so the more info you offer up the better help we can be.
