dale_andrew
My first dcc layout is complete and my points all work well in Railmaster. Why would i need to power the electro frog points? I use the Hornby points clips to make all the tracks live so why do i need to do the above?
Fishmanoz
Take a look at the Brian Lambert coverage of these on the DCC section of his website. Also, if you Google electrofrog points, there are sites that give you a nice little working diagram so you can see exactly what happens. The problem with not using IRJs, cutting the switch rails (your points may already have links installed to facilitate this) and using switching is that you have a very high risk of getting damaging shorts as your locos traverse the points. And when you do it, remove those DCC point clips too.
