kevin_roberts
Missed chance to purchase your R6674 wagon Im wondering when you will be getting more stock in. Ive noticed people selling on ebay. This is not fair as these people have taken all the stock to sell on at a huge profit while people like myself are unable to purchase at RRP from your website. I to got the answer try Con stores or ring around, but no answers to my Questions. Perhaps if Hornby Club members were offered a max of 2 before general release it appear to be fair to all. walkingthedog
Was it available for pre order? Last time I went to a toy fair there were plenty of the 2013 versions for sale.

Don't think it was available to pre order walkingthedog yes there seems to be a lot of the 2013 for sale .when I had a look at Chester models website thay still had the 2014 ones available this morning . as admin says the ebay sellers take a risk with there pre orders of not being able to get stock .I would have thought that they buy them from the retailers and then resell them
rayarpino
I never quite saw the point of purchasing these, as far as I am concerned, ugly liveries on completely oudated frames. What's the fun? If only Hornby were using old wagon stock repainted fror Xmas to get rid of them and introduce an up-to-date P.O. and other wagons it would make sense. walkingthedog
With you there rayarpin. I only like wagons in liverys that look right. Can't remember ever seeing one loaded with Christmas presents.

I have every one hornby have made . walkingthedog
I should have said each to his own. We all like different things.
2e0dtoeric
I don't collect fake wagons, either, except one - I just had to have the recent release of the LLANFAIR P G one! (merely because it is daft!) One or two of my private owner four-wheel coal wagons are 'might have looked like this' livery, because no genuine original one, or photograph, has been found. walkingthedog
That's why I said a livery that looks right.
Graskie
I wouldn't give them houseroom on my layout. More of a collector's item, I'd have thought. Don't forget that anyone selling them on eBay will have to pay 10% on final sale price and postage, so they need to make a fair bit more than their cost of purchase to make it worthwhile. I personally wouldn't consider the risks involved. And, potential buyers, just don't buy them that way!
PJ_model_trains
Christmas wagon ordered on the 5th still hasn't arrived :o( Neither has Cock O the North ordered on 7th :-( I emailed Hornby yesterday for an update, today they telephoned and gave an update. Great customer service Hornby. Both orders, including a few other bits will be with me tomorrow ;o) Can't wait, it will make a change to programming signals. new lad on block
Hi Gordon photos of the R1046 'The Christmas Special' train set.Wagon is red with parcel load not writing on side. Have taken photos of other Red Christmas Wagons in the series./media/tinymce_upload/9cc1d410a308e8b0392b40b29b8de92c.JPG/media/tinymce_upload/eff100daa61d3acc04305e8f866d9da3.JPG/media/tinymce_upload/82b2122ff62e498285be64f8f1213c17.JPG/media/tinymce_upload/9c52e80be736cf0f67f2195893ea08db.JPG
NWR-Gordon-4
Thanks for these images, new lad on block. 😀 Is the Christmas Tree load removerable from the flatbed, or is a permanenet load, like the RailRoad / Thomas & Friends Circus Flatbed's? I like the plain 7 plank red, no logoed open wagon that was supplied in the R1046 The Christmas Special Train Set. I would to get a couple. Could easily be disguised as a Thomas & Friends wagon. I don't the presents load though. GNR-Gordon-
new lad on block
Hi Gordon, The tree load is not fixed, it is kept in place by the red uprights. The uprights are laid flat in the photo.
NWR-Gordon-4
The uprights are the red bars that fold up and down, on the side of the flatbed? So the tree is as it? Narrow in with, tall in height? There's no way of expanding the width of the tree? GNR-Gordon-

The load will remove. No way of making trees larger.I think Hornby missed a trick with components of this set. In my opinion they /media/tinymce_upload/4df834876e99bf1f723e751851c356ef.JPG/media/tinymce_upload/96f5a795771b0865d5417e3dea2b1680.JPG would have made a good Thomas Christmas set. NWR-Gordon-4
It could have a made a good Thomas set, providing it came with Thomas' snowplow. GNR-Gordon-
