michael.hamilton Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 I have been receiving emails re Airfix and Scalextric (as well as the Hornby ones that I'm interested in). When I click on Unsubscribe I'm taken to my account page which indicates that I'm only subscribed to the Hornby ones. Any ideas ??
walkingthedog Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Same here, I get Aifix and Corgi but only asked for Hornby. I'm quite happy to get the others. Strange though.
gilbo2 Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 same here today as well, thought it was odd!!!
Graskie Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Well, I suppose Hornby do own those companies and therefore suddenly thought it might be a good idea to incorporate them as well, just in case someone is interested and might want to buy something in those ranges. After all, they are somewhat related to our hobby. I've had the same thing. Not too bothered yet but.......as time goes by.......
walkingthedog Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 What have you always them then, WTD? Eh? Maybe they're sending them because it's nearly Christmas.
Graskie Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 You cheat, WTD! You managed to edit your response after I had responded to it. I'll tell the Interlocutor and get the Spanish Inquisition onto you!
Augustus Caesar Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Hi guys, I just wanted to let you all know that if you keep receiving unwanted emails/newsletters from Hornby Hobbies (any of our brands) you can contact me directly and I can have you manually removed from our mailing list. Please contact me at [email protected] making it clear which email address needs to be removed and from which brand(s). That's a very decent thing Admin... however, shouldn't the site be fixed so as to stop these upon request and thus stop us pestering you when you have better things to do? Just a thought... but a good one...
Augustus Caesar Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Manually removing people from the mailing list is only a short term workaround. We are working on having the Account section control all the emails users receive but this requires some additional development work. Also, we have taken you off the mailing list for Airfix and Scalextric michael. Thanks for that explanation Admin. I'll wait for the fix patiently as it's not that important and not risky.
