PapaBrown
The Castle Class locos made by Hornby on service sheets 213H, 293 & 306 (I believe these were previously made by Dapol but I could be wrong) all have the same type of loco draw-bar arrangement. Am I correct in my belief that although the locos pick up power from both rails, the tenders only pick up from one side - the left hand rail when going forwards. I am having some problems with one of my Castles which keeps stalling every time it passes over a point or crossing even though these are the "live-frog" type. When I tried to ascertain the reasons, I was astounded to find only tender wheel wipers on one side!!! Am I missing something here??? walkingthedog
No it did only pick up from one side. Don't be astounded, most Bachmann tender locos don't pick up from the tender at all.
