VESPA Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 The correct bogies are Y25 type. Sadly as far as I know not made by Hornby but by Baccy at £11.95 per pair.36-038 It also looks as if the underframes are also missing.
The son of Triangman Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 I know a shop on the norfolk coast that has the Hornby bogie frames for these in stock if that helps?
cal646 Posted December 1, 2014 Author Posted December 1, 2014 the chap whom i purchased them from said that the ones hornby supplied with the tankers was "un-prototypical"for the tankers and threw them away, which to me seems crazy silly i would at least keep the wagons in usable condition and change bogies out as and when if i was that into concourse looking model training, thanks vespa for the info but 12 quid a pair is mugs money and i cant afford that lol,son of triangman it would of helped if you said the name of mentioned shop and a price range. why dont the hornby shop have these in stock as it their product?and why are simple moulded plastic parts so hard and expensive to come by?????
Fazy Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Sounds like you bought them off a would be modeler. Pulls things apart then stops. Try Norfolk coast models I hear they are very good for hornby spares which hornby don't hold they also hold other makes but I would not want to be thought of trying to advertise anything.
walkingthedog Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 It's called Norfolk Coast Models. SoT isn't allowed to say it.
VESPA Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 It's called Norfolk Coast Models. SoT isn't allowed to say it.It's his shop/business.
The son of Triangman Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Ahem, you have the maths wrong Cal646. We quoted £2.50 per bogie excluding p&p with a discount for being Hornby forum member, it doesn't equal £12 a pair. they are now a rare spare to obtain.

cal646 Posted December 8, 2014 Author Posted December 8, 2014 SOT i was refering to the ebay listing for bachmann y25 bogies at 12 quid a pair i believe i posted that before i made inquires with you. But i have a couple questions, The ebay listing picture i cant see much of it and i cant see any pictures at all on your site, i cant see a coupling attached what sort is needed for this bogie ? and i take it 12.5 mm wheels ? and fixed via small nut and bolt ? im dubius of paying out without knowing exactly what im getting
The son of Triangman Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 How do I say this without advertising. There are so many spares on the site and it turns over too quickly for us to photograph everything, we got to 100 pages to maintain and decided we couldn't manage any more pages. They are the standard Hornby bogie with rivetted on tension lock coupling as per standard. The bogies are rivet fit via part S.5100 which we have, hope that helps.
cal646 Posted December 9, 2014 Author Posted December 9, 2014 ok sweet ,i appreciate the reply and that you cant photograph every spare you stock
