Scott in Kent

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon !, My Names Scott and I’m after some help,

I recently acquired what I believe is a Hornby R2358 SNCF CLASS 90 90130, The motor runs fine but I believe that one of the 2 driving sets of wheels is slipping. I found these 2 black plastic “things” on the track and am not sure whether these are from the train or not. (the gears on the wheels are intact) Also, one of the copper contacts is bent.

I suppose my question is, are the 2 black plastic things from the train and can it be fixed ? (I’m really not good at fixing small things with my fat fingers !)

Many thanks in advance for reading my post/media/tinymce_upload/DSC01596.JPG/media/tinymce_upload/DSC01602.JPG/media/tinymce_upload/DSC01604.JPG

Scott- it is hard to tell from those pics, but the left wheel on the bogey shown appears to be missing a traction tyre (like a tiny rubber band!)

Th two plastic 'things' at a guess, are dummy shock absorbers that were glued to the bogey near the springs (that don't work either).

Again, it is hard to tell, bcause there is nothing in the shot to give them any size.

Hello Scott,  from what has already been said regarding the traction tyres and the wheel pick ups, the small black plastic bits I have seen somewhere but at present I cannot remember. I have 2 of these locos and there were no extra bits with them when I got them new. Keep hold of the parts but I think that they are from something else. The annoying thing is that I have seen similar with something I have. Sadly too much to go through to find this side of 2020. Something in my mind suggests a wagon but that is just a maybe. Did you get it secondhand from Liverpool?

How big are those objects Scott. Can you take another picture of them with a 50 pence piece alongside to give an idea of scale?

Other coins are available.

From my memory I think they are about 7/8th inch long. I have seen them on/with something and think that they push fit to hold another part in place.WTD I know you are asking Scott here not me, but I just thought  to add this.
