IanP
So, the Raspberry Pi 2 has just been launched (http://www.raspberrypi.org/raspberry-pi-2-on-sale/) with the news it will be able to run Windows 10 (http://blogs.windows.com/buildingapps/2015/02/02/windows-10-coming-to-raspberry-pi-2/).Given the basic requirements for RailMaster, has anyone got any thoughts on whether it could be successfully installed on a Pi 2 running Windows 10? Chrissaf
Quote from web article:"The Raspberry Pi 2-compatible version of Windows 10 will be available free of charge to makers." This would infer to my mind that the Pi2 version of Win 10 would be a very much cut down version. One never knows, but I would think it unlikely to support RM. I bow however to the knowledge of anybody who is closer to the MS Win10 development team.I would think it is aimed at people developing custom applications using a Win 10 API. PJR_slo
Raspberry Pi uses an ARM processor, whereas PCs use Intel/AMD with a very different architecture/instruction set. RM has been designed and compiled to run within the Windows operating system on Intel/AMD architecture. It will not run on an ARM processor unless it has been re-compiled to do so, which I doubt will happen anytime soon... Peter
