Incorrectly installed loco decoder

big relief, obviously old Locos and my sons loves them, so dont want to ruin them for him. 

just 1 more question.  i have an inner and outer track with a point on.  I know the point changes the power from the outer to the inner track, but how do i "liven" both inner and outer track without putting double the power through.

i forgot to mention, i am running a hornby Select controller

You can either use point clips or, a better solution, have power feeds on both circuits.

You must NEVER attach two DCC controllers to the layout.
