EastCoastRacer
I'm trying to fit a decoder to my Class 56 'Oystermouth' and have removed the transit brackets and the four screws as instructed. The instructions say 'The body will lift off easily', but the body shows no signs of wanting to move. Am I missing something?
2e0dtoeric
I assume it has never been opened before - so they can be a VERY tight fit, and often a trace of paint has sealed the joint as well. This is common with a new loco. Very carefully ease a micro flat-head screwdriver around the edges of the seam between body and chassis to 'crack' the seal, then you should be able to tease them apart.Note I said screwdriver - NOT craft knife! It is all too easy to slip, and then you have to learn to type, play guitar, etc, all over again with a finger less!
