More N Gauge Suggestions

The latest N gauge Journal suggests that, following the successful introduction of the Brighton Belle sets, Hornby is keen to develop further N gauge models.  It also adds that this Forum will be considered by the manufacturer for ideas of which models to develop.  So, here goes...

When Bachmann took over the Graham Farish brand, they gave a committment to eventually produce their locomotives available in OO gauge in N gauge.  This would seem an obvious plan for Hornby, too.  Clearly, loco's already produced by other manufacturers may introduce competition, but I suspect that most modellers would prefer to see classes not made by others.  If one looks at the list available from Hornby in OO, there are many examles, as follows; LMS Fowler 2-6-4T and 2P 4-4-0: LNER K1, J15 and D16: GWR 42/52 2-8-0 and SR 700 and S15 classes.

Diesels are more widely covered but there are several DMU and EMU classes not currently available, for example their 2-HAL set.

By producing such otherwise unavailable loco's, Hornby would be appealing to an open market, always a prime consideration in terms of product development, and modellers could look forward to a greater range to run on their layouts.
