r8249 chips

I'm afraid not with the Hornby Select controller. To reset the R8249 to factory defaults you need to write decimal vlaue 8 to CV8. The 'Select' is very basic and has only limited CV read write functions like loco address and acceleration / deceleration values. In the Hornby range, Elite and eLink can read / write CVs.

If you have only ever used the 8249s with your Select, there is so little you can change that it is difficult to get so muddled you need to reset.  So tell us exactly what your problem is and we can probably give you some advice on fixing it.

 

And if they all have the same problem, maybe your Select needs a reset, covered in the manual.
