Wayne2467
Arrived today- ran ok at first then made a clicking sound before derailing due to the wheel couplings ( not sure if that's what they are called) falling to bits. Not having to much luck with locomotives
Graskie
Unless you did someting like pick it up and hold it by means of the valve and motion gear, which could have distorted things, it sounds like an immediate return job for a replacement.

No nothing like that just picked it up from the body as usual. When I heard the clicking noise had a quick look to see if there was something there that shouldn't be Underneath. But Amazon are great on returns
96RAF
Its always wise to give a new model the evil eye after deboxing it looking for obvious faults and also any more devious problems, especially the complex and extremely delicate valve gear and connecting rods on steamers.Maybe you could have picked up the fault when you were lubricating it according to the maintenance sheet provided. walkingthedog
Don't think you need to lubricate a brand new loco RAF, unless it's been in its box for months before being purchased.
poliss
Sounds like the motion was bent or not fitted properly.
walkingthedog
Perhaps the motion was distorted or a screw was loose, no not mine. Edit: sorry poliss didn't spot your entry above.

Fishmanoz
So you'll have 2 after the faulty one is replaced under warranty?
Wayne2467
So you'll have 2 after the faulty one is replaced under warranty? No because I sent the first one back for a refund. In the meantime I bought an elite controller and now trying the Gadwell again. Got my eye on the cock of the North for end of july too.
