Smithy58
Good day everyone, just a query where I find there are certain locos on my n gauge layout have a habit of shorting across the frog. As other locos run over the frogs without any problems I can only assume this must be down to a manufacturing issues of the locos wher the tolerances of the wheel spacings between the flanges is excessive to cause the wheel to be close to the other rail. I have therefore had to use nylon fishplates on the frog rails. I was wondering if there was a setting in railmaster to adjust the short circuit sensitivity To get round this. The two locos which cause this problem are relatively new GF deltic and the 4-6-2 NE England .thanks for any help in advance
96RAF
I think you will find sensitivity is a hardware parameter in eLInk or Elite, and not something that can be controlled by the operating software.
Fishmanoz
Seems to me like you should be checking the wheel back-to-back measurement on the offending locos so they don't short in the first place.
poliss
No. There's no way of adjusting the sensitivity, nor do you want to be able to adjust it.You want it to cut out instantly to avoid damage to the decoders and controller. As Fishy say, the back to back distance may be incorrect, or with older locos, the wheels are too wide.I did post the correct B2B measurements a few days ago.
