Let's see some 1/32 Fords - Capri, Escort and Cortina

Recommended Posts

Would love to see these 3 kits. All are rare, not made by other manufacturers AFAIK and reflect a great age in both car design and Airfix kits.

I could even see a box set of these 3 in the making.

Both the Capri and Cortina (along with the Zodiac and Vauxhall Victor) tools were butchered into 'custom' cars in the early 1980s, so cannot be reissued in their original form.

I remember the custom cars. I made the Capri one. I'd be happy to see those rereleased, maybe with as many of the stock components as they could rescue moulds for.

I'd love to see some of the more obscure 32nd cars as well. How about a BL 3 car set- Mini, Maxi and Marina?

My only request would be to stagger the releases. My finances aren't great, and I'm not getting much model making done at the moment.

In addition the these, what about some of the earlier cars? The Austin Healey Sprite, Sunbeam Rapier and MGB come to mind, and I'm sure there are others. I'd also like to see the Maxi and Marina too. Also, if the moulds are being re-furbished, couldn't the Capri, Zodiac, Cortinal and Victor be restored? Revell and Round 2 in the USA have done this to some of their old tooling to restore it. Finally, hasn't Scalextric issued a Lotus Cortina? Couldn't this shell/tooling be utilised? several of the Scalextric bodies were issued this way as Hornby kits about 12-15 years ago, so it could be done? Just a thought...

Good idea on the BL set

there was a Renault dauphine, but if I had 1 vote it would be the vauxhall victor..

Mk1 and mk2 Escorts, with options to put bubble arches on them, and a variety of decal sets for some of the 1970's and 1980's classic rally cars. - eg  for the Mk2's - Eaton Yale, Rothmans, Cossack, the list goes on....

for the mk1's - A Safari Rally version, a Tarmac version, and an RAC Rally version.....

i would probably ably buy them all!
