paul_harness
Running Railmaster on a Windows 8.1 laptop and elink. After recent updates, the functions with on/off work fine but the other functions are taking numerous clicks (or taps; laptop is touchscreen) to eventually respond. This is both on the laptop and when using a handheld device.Any suggestions? Son getting bored.
Fishmanoz
Email RM Support from within the Help window of RM.
RDS
Are you referring to RailMaster updates, or Windows updates?and did it work OK before the update?
Augustus Caesar
Probably Windows updates. I've had some issues with clients and their touch screen laptops (no RM installed as they are not modellers) where updates have upset the driver for this. Simply reinstall the driver for the screen or graphics card. If that doesn't work then contact HRMS as Fishy suggests as it may be down to RM itself. paul_harness
Have now spent several hours with remote sessions with Railmaster support. They said they'd never encountered this one before. After hooking up my elite controller to the laptop instead of elink, sound functions worked perfectly. Conclusion; duff elink for Hornby customer support to sort out. HornbyRailMasterSupport
Just to add to this, the eLink is not necessarilly faulty. We have also suggested that you connect a short piece of track directly to the TRACK output of the eLink and test your sound locos as we have found in the past, although very rarely, that a subtly faulty other loco decoder or accessory decoder on the layout can interfere with the eLink's DCC signal to the loco decoder (both being mini computers in their own right). The Elite has a slightly stronger DCC signal than the eLink and this may explain why that works and the eLink doesn't - that slight difference, with interference introduced into the equation can make the difference. It is only your non on/off sound functions that require repeated pressing to work as we found when we were logged into your PC. It would be interesting to see if the direct connection to your eLink works. If not then you do appear to have a "duff" eLink and this will be the first instance of this we have seen. In this case Customer Care will resolve the issue quickly.
